Eye drops that contain steroids can cause opened-angled glaucoma and cataracts. Some commonly prescribed steroids are:
-- PRED FORTE: (Is Prednisolone a STEROID)
-- HYDRA-CORTISONE: MANY PRESCRIPTIONS whose names end in O-N-E contain or are steroids.
SKIN CREAM, OINTMENTS AND LOTIONS:
-- TRIAMCINOLONE: A topical steroid skin cream almost twenty times stronger than hydrocortisone.
-- LOTRISONE: A cream even stronger than Triamcinolone.
-- Aquanil HC Lotion:
-- EURAX: A cream that contains a small amount of steroid
-- TRIDESILON
-- DESCORT
-- FLUOCINOLONE ACETONIDE: Commonly prescribed for diaper rash 2 - 25% stronger than hydrocortisone
-- ELOCON: Compared to other steroids that are of similar strength, Elocon has much less potential to cause skin atrophy

It should be noted that one prescription may contain a single or several steroid ingredients.
Physicians recommend gradual withdrawal when stopping steroid treatment after prolonged use.
Many alternatives to steroid prescriptions work equally well. When prescribed, used and properly monitored, steroid prescriptions can produce tremendous results. But when the inherent dangers are ignored, precautions and recommendations disregarded, the results can be tragic.
