Dedication

This program was created as a voluntary project due to the many family members and friends that left us, due to Cancer...as you will see below. I was concerned as to why and who would be next? Therefore, I suggest that if you are concerned, for yourself, or due to your family or friends, that you form a voluntary discussion group and meet once a week for twelve (12) weeks and learn together. You just need a few people. It will be rewarding. Also, it will build a stronger community of friendship. The materials and facilitator guide pages, etc., are all here. You can meet at home, office, church, community center, conference room at work, or almost anywhere. Enjoy!

This program is dedicated to the following family members and friends who have left us due to cancer:
Frank A. Villella - age 84
Mary F. Delmonico Villella - age 68

Below is an article about Conrad and the vision, from the Las Vegas Image Magazine, September/October 2000 issue.

Highpoint Cancer Education Center
By: Steven Renville

Conrad Villella's life has been filled with tragedy as cancer afflicted not only his close friends, but many family members as well. Today, Conrad fights for answers to this disease as founder, president, and coordinator of the Highpoint Cancer Education Center.

Conrad is an Independent Representative at Excel Communications Inc., which is a Dallas-based INTERNET, WIRELESS, Local and Long-Distance carrier that recently rated number one in the top "Five Hot Home-Based Business", by Executive Female. Being self-employed with Excel has allowed him to work on his true passion, the Highpoint Cancer Education Center, Inc., "Create a Lifestyle You Can Look Forward To", which is a non-profit company that assists cancer survivors. It is a conference center, without walls, for people who have experienced cancer.

Individuals undergo a positive program focusing on inner feelings, emotional, mental, spiritual, physical and understanding life energy. The Highpoint Center identifies these areas and helps people understand them, increasing their chances for improvement. As one member stated, "Highpoint has given me hope, encouragement, a special new friend!" Conrad talks about prevention, via mind body medicine, compiling data of thousands of cancer patients. "We take that information on why these people overcame cancer and why these people are still alive who had cancer, and apply that up front so maybe we can prevent cancer!" With the help of numerous medical professionals, hospitals, clinics, and the Internet, Conrad Villella's vision has become a reality!

Here is what a participant has said about the series...

Conrad,

More than anything, Highpoint has given me hope, encouragement, a special new friend and the desire for me to discover who I am. I have a new excitement about my dreams coming true.
I have learned I need to have an open mind, love myself, my body and my cells. i have learned it's OK for me to want to be held, touched and hugged. I have choices; I create my world with my thoughts and words... and no matter what the circumstances I alone have control of my thoughts.
I have gained knowledge on nutrition, vitamins, exercise, how I breathe, and the air that I breathe. I've learned that certain fear destroys the immune system and laughter builds it up.
Spiritual growth is essential to my health. To me, spirituality is the key to my physical health. meditation, affirmations, prayer, and visualization all are important to my healing and remaining healthy. If I am OK with my Higher Power, I feel loved and safe. I also know I need to trust this Higher Power and let go - let God. I've learned the importance of doing what you love to do, to be enthusiastic and have a zest for life.
I know if I apply what I have learned at Highpoint, I will be healthy.

Love, Micki
