This is what you can expect to happen at one of our usual church services. We start by welcoming everyone to the Spiritualist Desert Church.
We rise, sing our first song/hymm and then remain standing for an invocation.
We are invited to sit.
Together we repeat our Declaration of Principles.
A second song/hymm is sung.
A lecture is presented by our minister or a guest.
Our third song/hymm is sung.
Time for announcements.
We take a love offering.
HEALING AND MEDITATION
At this time we offer healing (hands on) and meditation. Healing is open to everyone.
We recite our healing prayer. The lights are dimmed and our healers take their places. Music is played in the background.
As people take seats in front of our healers, our ongoing list of those in need of healing is read. Anyone who is not participating in the healing with our healers now have time for private meditation and personal healing. At times, a guided meditation is substituted for the private meditation. As people leave the healing stool/chair others take their place until everyone who wishes healing has a turn.
When everyone is finished we thank Infinite Intelligence with a prayer.
SPIRIT GREETING AND MESSAGES FROM OUR MEDIUMS
During this part of the service, mediums and student mediums are asked if they have messages (also known as spirit greetings) for those attending our service.
*** Our mediums will ALWAYS ask if they may bring someone a message. NO ONE is given a message if they choose to decline or refuse it. ***
First we ask our members and guest speakers or visiting Ministers if they have messages, then, if time allows, we will invite friends of our church and other guests to give messages.
Everyone is invited to join our circle and we sing our closing hymm, "Let there be peace on earth."
Our speaker gives a closing benediction and our service is over.
Often, after our Sunday service, we offer coffee, a goodie and fellowship. Everyone is welcome to join us.
