Welcome to Spring Mountain Ranch State Park Docent Homepage
Stop at the Ranch on your next trip to southern Nevada. View pioneer sandstone buildings that date back to the 1860s. Tour the historic ranch house/visitor center that had fascinating owners including Chet Lauck, entertainer; Vera Krupp, German movie star; and billionare Howard Hughes.

Spring Mountain Ranch is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Spring Mountain Ranch Docent Organization began shortly after the ranch was purchased by the State of Nevada and opened as a state park in 1974. The Docent Organization is a nonprofit group of volunteers, dedicated to interpreting the cultural and natural history of the park.

Each year more than 200,000 people visit the park. The Ranch House/Visitor Center sits on a hill overlooking grassy pastures, and the magnificient Wilson cliffs. A short drive from nearby Las Vegas takes you into this peaceful, pastoral setting.

Park entrance fee is $6.00 per vehicle, and includes entrance to the Ranch House, historic walking tour, and use of the picnic area. Park hours are 8 a.m. until sunset.

For more information on the park, or how to become a Docent, please call the park office at (702) 875-4141.
